The beautiful fish tank, the attentive service, the warm inviting atmosphere and the absolutely delightful cuisine were more than we could hope for. Even the timing between the courses was enough to allow for a very casual relaxed atmosphere without leaving anyone feeling like they were waiting.

I don't believe anyone left anything on their plates and everyone was smiling the entire time. We were very well taken care of and I truly think that the only reason that anyone even decided to go home was when we realized what time it was.

Absolutely Wonderful - November 2010

"I am writing to express my thanks to you, and to your staff for the wonderful experience we had at The Landing last Sunday evening. The food was absolutely wonderful. It is probably rare that all twenty-one diners would agree that the meal was excellent, but in this case we all did! Our compliments to the chef!!!

All of your other staff that we dealt with were also fantastic, carefully looking after our every need. Melanie was so helpful in every way, and our waiter (Koesti, I believe) was so attentive and thorough, and also a lot of fun. I hope you will convey my appreciation to all of your staff that were involved.

We were just blown away by the quality of everything during our daughter Meghan Brothers' wedding at your resort. The resort was gorgeous, the accommodation was clean and deluxe.

The food – wow, wow, wow – to have managed both the salmon and the steak at the buffet to be simultaneously so delicious is definitely a practised art!

The brunch was equally as impressive – there has been much talk about how delicious it all was. The bartending at the reception was a big job, well handled. All the service was second-to-none - we know you all worked extremely hard and yet were not intrusive.

Please accept our deepest gratitude for giving us so much of yourselves and leaving us with nothing but wonderful memories. "

"Well Melanie, I have had such wonderful, amazing feedback about the resort and wedding. People actually came back Sunday morning with their families to have brunch once they saw the resort – which was great!

Everything was absolutely PERFECT. There was nothing we would have changed (except air conditioning in the rooms, but that is beyond your control). People raved about the food. "Last Friday we checked into Pacific Shores Resort and had dinner at The Landing West Coast Grill. Jerry had your Cioppino and it was the best he has ever eaten. I ordered your Fire Grilled Wild Salmon and thought I was in heaven.

After spending a week on a cruise, we were delighted by your menu and service by your staff. In reading the Vancouver Island book in our room, I noticed the recipe for the Cedar Plank Salmon. Is it possible to get the recipe for the Fire Grilled Salmon? The herb crust was the best I’ve ever tasted!"

Saturday Night Dinner - Absolutely Fantastic! – February 2010

"My husband Mark and I came for dinner on Saturday night. I just wanted to let you all know that it was absolutely fantastic! Koesti was an amazing server. (Please let him know!)

My husband is hard to please since he is also a cook, but much to my own surprise, he was speechless with our meals! (Believe me, this is hard to do!)

I had the three course special- to start I had the oysters (best I've ever had), lamb chops for my main and Grand Marnier dessert. Mark had the scallops (they were like butter), filet mignon for his main and butter pecan tart for dessert.

Kudos to everyone! I'll be coming by to book our Valentine's dinner some time today!"

Little Things Go a Long Way - July 2009

"I especially wanted to compliment Caitlyn who did an excellent job of looking after our needs. She came several times to tidy up the drinks table, and always checked with me to see if we required anything else. We very much appreciated that Pacific Shores was able to dispose of our recycling such as the beer and wine bottles, empty juice boxes and so forth. That was such a big help not to have to load all that back in our cars!

Another young server (I didn’t check his name tag unfortunately) was also very helpful, bringing the pans of ice, the glasses and corkscrew for our use. He was very polite and pleasant, even opening some of the wine for me which was helpful too. Little things like that go a long way!

Atilla was also a most gracious host and checked several times to make sure we had everything we needed. All in all, a very successful event in a beautiful location!"

The Best in North America - April 2008

"This is the first time I have been compelled to put in writing how much we enjoyed a dining experience. People are very quick to complain when something is wrong with a dinner service, so I thought you ought to know when everything went right.

On April 8, 2008, we made dinner reservations for myself, my husband and two guests. (My husband and I have been Aviawest owners for approximately 4 years and live in Nanoose Bay.)

Our guests were business associates we wished to impress. One guest is CEO of a large international firm in Belgium and the other is General Manager of their North American operations.

The entire dinner was a success from start to finish. The service was efficient and friendly, the wine was excellent and everyone enjoyed all three courses.

Two of us chose the grilled prawn and scallop entrée, one chose venison and one chose steak. All were cooked to perfection. We were enjoying our dinner so much we chose to take a later ferry back to Vancouver so we could linger over dessert and coffee.

Our guest from Belgium travels extensively and told us that his meal at The Landing was the best he'd had in North America!

We recently came back last Thursday, June 5, 2008 with visitors from Korea. Again, the meal and service were exceptional. We are very grateful to have such a quality dining experience close by and wish you continued success."
