Parksville Uncorked a Huge Success

Atilla Cimsit co-hosted three events throughout the weekend. Friday evening was a Wine and Appetizer pairing hosted by CedarCreek Estate Winery's own Terry Trapnell.

With a beautiful mix of CedarCreek wine, Little Qualicum Cheeseworks cheese and appetizers from our very own Executive Chef Andrew Howarth, the event was a hit.

Saturday night was a five-course dinner, each course paired with a CedarCreek wine. At the end of the dinner Atilla Cimsit and Terry Trapnell were thanked with a standing ovation.

A big thank you to all who attended!

Sold Out Wine Maker's Dinner

The Landing West Coast Grill hosted another sold out wine maker dinner event on Thursday May 28, 2009.

The guest of honour was Randy Picton, Wine Maker at NK'Mip Cellars, and Executive Chef Andrew Howarth created a wonderful locally-inspired menu for this special wine and culinary event. Guests enjoyed an amazing cuisine du terroir evening, a seasonal and sustainable regional approach to dining that was meticulously crafted around Nk'Mip Cellars wines by Executive Chef Andrew Howarth.

Chef Andrew Howarth was raised in Cambridge, England. After completing his apprenticeship, he spent six years at the Dorchester Hotel in London and was mentored by one of the world's most respected culinary figures, Anton Mosimann.

Andrew's resume also includes stops in Toronto, the Bahamas, and Vancouver. He now brings his culinary expertise to The Landing Westcoast Grill. Andrew is committed to using sustainable seafood through the Oceanwise program. The Landing’s wood-fired grill and rotisserie along with its stone oven inspire a unique menu.

"I have a great team here, and by bringing in the freshest possible ingredients, we have a winning combination," says Andrew.

The Nk'Mip Cellars in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley reflect the origin and unique character of the terroir and the careful "pruning to bottle" program of Winemaker Randy Picton
